Newsletter 14th August 2023
From the principal
A warm welcome to our new families. Thank you to everyone who was able to connect with your child’s teacher during the parent partnership interviews. The feedback from the Art Exhibition has been humbling as it reflects the hard work of the teachers, students, the talent and skills that so many students have were on show.
SAFETY REMINDER – Keeping Your Child Safe
Please model the correct behaviour by not parking illegally and please encourage your child to use the crossing.
Bullying
We have zero tolerance to any forms of bullying. Please encourage your child to let their teacher know or call Mrs Claire Stretch or one of the senior team. The school needs to be a safe place both physically and emotionally in order for your child to maximise their learning opportunities.
New Newsletter
As you can see, we are working to implement a new programme to compile and send out our newsletters. This will mean an eventual move away from Signmee. Please bear with us over the next week or two as you may recieve messages from both platforms as we integrate the new programme into all our processes.
School App
Alongside our newsletter, we are introducing a school app. For download instructions, please follow the link below.
When you are asked for a passcode, please use 9485.
Art Gallery - 2023 school art exhibition
It was wonderful to see the return of our Art Gallery this week in conjunction with parent conferences. Thank you to everyone who made the time to come and view the children's work, there were lots of proud faces showing off their hard work.
Congratulations to the Jiang family who won the $50 warehouse voucher. We also drew two runner up prizes of an arts and crafts goodie box. Congratulations to the Cortese and Luo families who won these.

Celebrating Excellence
Room 17 has been having a ball, improving their hand and eye coordination by practising their catching and throwing skills in P.E this term. Together, we reflected on the activity, connecting the dots between the physical achievement and how it makes you feel. It was a wonderful learning experience filled with smiles, skill building, games and lots of fun!

Interschool Cross Country
Last week our interschool cross country team competed at the annual HPPA Cross Country event. All our students ran their very best and finished their races with nothing left to give. A special congratulations go to Rakera B who came second in the Year 5 girls event and to Hannah W who came 3rd in the same event. Our Year 5 boys team, consisting of Tangaroa A, Boston W, Jason Y and Jai M, came 2nd in the team event, outstanding work!
A big thank you to all the parents who came and supported with transport, marshalling and supervision alongside cheering our runners on and to Mrs Elazagui and Mr Ward for organising the day.
